49cc Mini pocket nike LAWS? |
I just purchased a X1 2nd Generation mini pocket bike for my 8 year old son. He loves the thing to death, and he rides it very well. I make him obey rules and even let him buzz up and down the road. We live on a side road, 300 miles North of Detroit. Since it is under the 50cc mark, it is not registrable, so it is classified as a minibike. Not road legal, can we get in trouble for riding it on the side of the road????? You can ride ATV on the side of the roads legally here, so I would think he would be okay too Any ideas?? We live 35 miles West of Gaylord Michigan technically, its illegal to drive any unregistered motorized vehicle on the road. but if they let you drive atvs, then i would argue that if someone tried to stop you. i dont think you will have a problem as long as you are not going through traffic and you stay on the small streets in your neighborhood. keep him under control though. one of my neighbors has a yamaha 450 and he makes so much noise and does over 60mph on my street (25mph limit). my dad is getting very close to calling the police. if that happens, they can seize his vehicle indefinately. just make sure he doesnt piss off the neighbors. please post in the proper category this is Cycling, as in Bicycling not Motorcycles! here is a great idea. try just alittle harder and post your question is a place where they give a rst's *** about thins tha are stoopid. kinda like your question. bikes BIKES not bikes with motors |
