Harley Sportster signal problem.?

I went out and put 36" ape hangers on my 02 1200 sportie. Everything went fine. All controls work all electronics are fine. Start it up cruise down the road 10 feet and my turn signals are not blinking they turn on but don't blink. Pull the bike back in turn it off. I check all the fuses and lines no problem. turn on the acc. turn signals blink. Turn bike on, no blinking. Turn on emergency they blink. Turn on one or the other no blinking. Turn off bike they blink. What did I do? What little gremlin crawled into my bike?

with 36" apes you might have a amp load prob, wowsa those are big ole bars man wow. check that you dont have one burnt out sounds stupid but it is harleys way of telling you got a prob in the tsm. do you have the right bulbs in the sockets two contacts in front and one in rear.also check your pin placement in your connector. right is 123 left is 456 black is in 1 and 6 purple are in 2 and 5 blue are 3 and 4. if all else fails after that check your pin placement in your duetch connectors for your switch housing too. last but not least you may need a load equalizer. k good luck. check for proper grounding.
man, what the hell are you doing? maybe its a sign you should not be doing this???
Proper grounding should be checked as well as the possibility of a direct short. There possibly are circuit breakers that could be cutting out in the event of a short rather than blowing a fuse. Make sure that all splices are soldered and not butt jointed. Use plenty of electrical tape or heatshrink tubing. If you routed the wiring through the apes, make sure you didn't nick a wire or skin back the electrical tape or heatshrink covering the splices.
Possibly the flasher relay, (low on blinker fluid) When its off voltage is lower and it is not overwhelmed, and blinks, when it bike is running, you have a volt or two more due to charging circuit cutting in, it blinks on, but the device is to weak (going bad) to cut it off (make it blink) before you buy, swap it with somebody who has a good one and check it. I think if it was a loose wire you would have no lights at all. This is just a guess, but I think the grimlins are in the flasher relay. If this doesn't fix it, sell the bike and buy a Honda, then all future problems you are about to have with that Harley will be fixed also. :) (couldn't resist)
