Trikes vs. Cars? |
I've dreaded learning how to drive, mainly because since the car sticks out in front of you and to the side so much, I can't judge exactly where I need to drive. I also could never get too excited about owning and driving a car. But after seeing a trike on the road, I checked them out online and fell in love with them. They just look so cool! Plus, I would think that it'd be easier to judge where you are on the road, since you're sitting in the middle and sort of front of the bike, unlike a car. But my mom doesn't think they're practical (i.e. no protection from the elements), and that they're really unsafe. So my basic question is, what's your take on all this- trike vs. car? i think id start out with a car first,and learn to drive it really well,because you have to have a drivers license for a car to get one for a motorcycle anyway so id learn to drive a car really good then think about getting a trike,i agree they are cool looking,and i have rode one before,i would rather ride one of those than drive a car,if the weather was right,but it wont keep you dry or warm in bad weather,your mom is right on this one,good luck i hope this helps. They are also selfish as you can't carry a passenger in comfort. I'd stick with a car as triles are inherently unsafer due in part to exposure to elements and being basically "invisible" to auto operators. It is your perspective when you drive. You don't sit on the oil slick down the centre, you sit to the left of it as you sit in the car. Trike is wet when it rains, car is inside. Trike is not winter driven. Car is. If you're just learning to drive, you sure don't need to start out with a trike. There is no protection not only from the elements, but from others on the road. No bumpers, no fenders etc. Do yourself a big favor, and start out with a car. You can invest in a trike later on. |
