Can i legally drive a dirtbike on the street in NY?? |
i would love to get a dirt bike and be able to get a license to drive it on the road i live in new york i have a driver and motorcycle license. can i do it in NY?? It has to be a model that was designed for at least occasional street use, it must have adequate lights including turn signals and a horn. If your bike has these things, it will probably be OK since pure dirt bikes don't have turn signals. If so, go to your DMV to register it, you must do that or it will not be legal. Unless it has lights, a horn and turn signals you can't drive it any state. It depends on the type of dirtbike you get. Some manufacturers make dirtbikes called enduros, which are street legal. So basically if you want to ride it on the road, make sure its street legal before you buy it. |
