Why does every inexperienced person goes straight for a sportbike?

I just hate to see someone that doesnt know what they're doing go out and by a fast bike it worries me because of i too ride and i hate getting a bad wrap because of people doing stupid stuff on these bikes and wrecking and hurting them self then half of them dont wear a helmet to bad you cant knock some sense in these people they arent just risking their life but every one else that is on or near the road

peer pressure is probably 1 reason, the ability to flick into a turn at a 60 degree angle might be another, but then they find out that puttin a bike into that steep of a lean isnt for the faint of heart. they find out the hard way what happens when these race type bikes flips them over the bars when they lock up the very touchy front brake, or it throws them down when they grab what would be a huge handful of gas on a cruiser. seems that they are hell bent on learning things the hard way thru alot of pain.

every time a rider gets killed riding without a helmet, it gives the 'manditory helmets' types out in force screaming for a universal helmet law. they cause grief for otherwise sane and safe riders because they have to pay high insurance premiums to make up for the idiots spreading all that spilled rice from a laydown at high speed.

since these 'wanna play god' types in the state houses want to legislate dam near everything, i wouldnt be surprized if 1 day, a state law is created mandating that: beginning sport bike riders are required to have at least 1 year of riding a 250cc sport bike...at the maximum. 2nd year, they can go to a 500cc max. after 2 yrs, then they can get a 600cc and up, and mc dealers would be made illegal to sell a sport bike to anyone that didnt have an endorsement; permit rider's would be ineligible to get even a ninja-250.

sooner or later, that just might happen. take a look on how alot of states have implemented graduated licensing to new teen drivers. rookie teen drivers cant even have anyone under 21 with them for the first 6 months in some states. if these idiotic sport bike riders cant police themselves, they are beggin 'big government' to do it for them.
they are just trying to look cool that's it.they will either
sell it or wreck it or worse it just takes time to weed them out.
I don't think you take a breath when you're talking, it shows in your writing.
It's not that a lot of them go for sportbikes that bother me, but that they go for the wrong sportbikes. The ones under 50 hp aren't bad first bikes. I don't find cruisers very comfortable myself - although there are times I wish I had a KLR 650 dual sport so I could stretch my legs out instead of folding them up on a sportbike.
They like the James Bond look?
They're trying to look cool. I've never seen anyone look cool wiping out on a bike though. I'm a firm believer that you have to do your time on smaller bikes before upgrading to anything above a 400. It's the only way. Ride safe.
Best way to learn to ride bikes is to start with the "beast".
