What do you know about the 2008 Trek 2.3 road bike? |
I'm looking to buy one of these and I want to make sure its the right bike. Any thoughts? Also, any other bikes around the same price range I should look in to. The 2.3 is a nice bike. It has an aluminium frame and a carbon fork. This should be a fairly comfortable and durable combination. The components are most Shimano 105 and Ultegra which are good quality pieces. It ought to provide many years of riding and be easy to services. Given the competition in the bike business today, you should expect that any bike at the same price point as the Trek 2.3 should be an equivalent value. It is hard to make apples to apples comparisons with Trek because they use so many in-house Bontrager parts. But, the great equalizer is the test ride. Fit and feel are much more important than the name on the bike. Test as many bikes as you can. Things like component groups, etc. are good tiebreakers. Definitely, put it on the "should test ride" list. |
