What is the difference between a pixie bike and a road bike? A Pixie is another name for a "girls" frame bike, one with a dropped top tube. These frames are used in low priced bikes and kids bikes. So Pixie refers to a frame attribute while road bike refers to a type of bike. A road bike is based on a road racing style. It can loosely refer to any type of bike made for paved or smooth roads only. Pixie bike is a child's bicycle, with small wheels, one speed gearing, and a coaster brake. pixie bike- girl or child bike, means small wheels(runs to slow). while road bike- swift, fast, other cyclist calls it machine. Pixie is a girls frame bike - with the low step through top tube. It can be on any size bike. |
