Best method to lock road bike on the street?

I am thinking of taking the front wheel with me and just lock the frame and the rear wheel on the street. I will use a U lock and a cable and a chain lock. Is this the safest way? I just lock few hours a day.

Lock the frame to a light pole with the U-Lock. Run the cable lock around the pole, through the wheel and through the Pit Bull's collar. Make sure you park in the shade and leave him a bowl of water on hot days.

If you use both a cable lock and a U lock you shouldn't need to take your front wheel with you. Run the cable lock through the front and rear wheels and frame. If it is long enough, fasten it to a post or bike rack, as well. Then fasten the U lock to the post or bike rack. With a bit of luck, the thief will realize it'll take too long to breaking both locks and will go elsewhere.

BTW - be sure you don't have a quick release on your seat post binder! Also, don't leave a bike computer on the handlebars.

Hope this helps.

put the u lock thru the back tire and the seat tube (on the frame) then either A - take off the front tire and place it in the u lock too. or B get a cable and run it thru the front tire and the u lock. as mentioned before place the u lock on a bike rack, a securly fastened sign or something anchored and stable.

as mentioned before, a thief can get any bike, but sill skip the bike that will take longer to get.

Tape a GPS tracker on the inside of the seat tube. Do the world a favour and punish those deserving, especially bike thieves, who once stole a $20 seat off my mountain bike, problem was it had a worthless item inside the seat bag that was invaluable to me.
