What's the best/cheapest way to ship a road bike/tri-bike intact across the country to compete or tour?

What's the best/cheapest way to ship a road bike/tri-bike intact across the country to compete or tour?

If you have a hard case, that is the best option. You could also pack it into a box as well.

The best option on where to ship, is to find a local shop, where you are shipping to, that will sign for the package, and hold it for you. If you get a really nice shop, they will also re assemble the bike for you.

Also if you are wondering how to ship, remove the pedals and handle bare, and that should make the bike thin enough to fit in a box. You could also remove the front wheel, and set it against the frame to save space.

If you are not skilled at bike maintenance, simply bring the bike to a local shop, and they can pack it for you.

Hope this helped.

Happy riding!
