How can I register a bike if it hasn't been on the road in 16 years, and the owner has no ownership? |
I'm looking at buying a 'project' bike for my airbrush business. The one I'm looking at has been off the road for 16 years, and the owner can't find the ownership. How can I get the ownership changed over? Sorry, it's in Ontario, Canada. Have the owner file for a "lost title" at the local DMV. They'll have to research the back records to issue him a new title. Might take a few days but isn't terribly hard nor is it expensive. im originally from windsor, ont. when you buy any vehicle in ont. you have to also buy an information package at the license office, they'll do all the checking for you.should be no problem. find the last time it was lic. if not by the owner now keep looking its more trouble than its worth esp for a promo bike I am in Colo and county clerk purges all records over 10 years old and cannot research owner or title records over 10 years it depends on the state you live in. many states dont even require paper work for a bike that is a certain age |
