How to raise handlebar on bike? |
I have a GMC Denali Road Bike and I raised the handle bar and tightened the bolt but the bar is still loose. But if I tight it to night the tire wont turn. I do not have an owner manual since I bought this bike used. Usually the handlebars are wedged in place. When you loosen them you loosen the bolt then tap the bolt down to drive out the wedge, it is actually the nut. To tighten you have to pull the bolt up to wedge in the nut (wedge) enough to hold it so it can tighten. If the wedge turns it won't tighten. So, now you have to pull out the handlebars. Back off the nut, wedge. Replace the handlebars, Pull up the bolt to wedge the nut and tighten. If it still doesn't tighten try again. |
