Are road bikes with chromoly frames still being used in professional road races nowadays? If what you mean is Chrome Moly, then the answer is yes, well, sort of. From what I am reading, the answer is pretty much 'no'. Framesets used by the pro peloton (even regional pros) are going to be 853 steel, aluminum or carbon. Chromo? They hardly use metal anymore. It's all carbon fiber. Strong and light, just don't crash it (or scratch it, or bump into it in any way). |
