Is the kawasaki ninja zx-14R a good first bike?

I never road before, but suddenly became interested.i am 17 years old and just got my license. I like sport bikes alot and being not so small i like the way i fit on larger bikes. the ninja zx 14 was one of my favorite bigger sprot bikes. anyone know anything about this bike, or any owners that can share info?..thank you

It's way too much bike for you. Way too much. You are young, never rode before, and that is one of the faster bikes out there. Not to be mean, but I don't care how safe you are or how responsible, that bike is unforgiving of any mistakes, and as a beginner you will make quite a few. Not to mention the huge insurance cost of a 17 year old with that bike...

It might not appeal to you as much, but start out on a used, smaller cc bike with a more standard riding position. The Kawasaki 500R or 650R (still might be a bit much for a beginner) are good starting points. Enroll in a motorcycle safety course and get a feel of whether riding is for you.

start building your confidence first.. I think this bike is too powerful for you...but if you want a nice hot looking middle weight bike that is good for beginner I suggest SV650S, Yamaha R6 or R1, GSXR 600....
Be safe and Have fun...

sure is.nothing safer than a 17yr old going 180mph

look dude, you can buy whatever you want, nobody here can stop you...

as far as hyper-bikes go, the 14 is probably the most forgiving, the most rideable for a beginner because of the rideability features they added...

that being said, if it were me, i'd get on something smaller, and cheaper for your first season, a used 600 would be my reccomendation...

something you won't mind dropping a few times...

I am finishing Doug's statement "just before he slams into a car"

You have neither the experience or the judgment required to operate that motorcycle without killing yourself dead. Death is forever.

dude you are not qualified to ride a zx14.
sport bikes are not for beginners. they are
for experienced riders only. no dealer is
going to sell you a zx14. you need to start
out on a suzuki sv650 or the yamaha fz6.
both great beginner bikes. also cheaper
to insure then a sport bike.
