FREE SPIRIT bicycle...?

yesterday, i purchased a bicycle at a local rummage sale.the guy sold it to me for 25$ . it has metal emblem on the from that says "free spirit". its blue, and i think its road bike, i really have no idea.it has really thin tires, and curved handle bar.anyone know how old it is? or anything else about it? its definately rideable, but it looks very old....

It is an old bike. Free Spirit was sold by Sears and made by Murray or Huffy depending on the year and model.

You paid too much but now that you have it, clean it up, make sure it works properly, and have fun!

I remember my folks having a "Free Spirit" AKA Sears 10 speed years ago. Nothing special, but if it goes, it goes.

It's probably very old.
It is a road bike but you only paid $25 dollars for it, so the good thing is that you don't have to care for it as much as a bike a new road bike.

Free Sprit was sold through Sears many years ago. I remember them as a kid more than 30 years ago. They were very inexpensive then. If it works OK ride it, it has no value as a vintage bike.
