Am I ready to ride a CBR 600?

I've been riding bikes offroad since I was six and am not sure how different it is to ride a street bike like the CBR 600. I have ridden my bike on the road plenty of times I just don't know how much the weight and power difference will matter. So any advice from people that have ridden bikes like this would help
thanks

a cbr 600 is easier to ride than a dirt bike however the hardest thing is getting used to speed limits and cars on the road. When i first made the switch from off-road to street i would only ride during times when the traffic was light.

i've had a couple of cbr 600's and i think you can handle one if you have ridden any other motorcycle before and you're still alive lol. just remember to be very very gentle with the throttle. the acceleration on a speed bike like the cbr is way more brutal that on a offroad bike. have fun, i think you'll like the cbr

i know 16 yr old chickas that ride harleys. it if you have the gumption and strength as well as the skill to handle so much power. the power and respect of it will be the biggest challenge and thrill of it. cjhs

You know the basics, and it's like any other bike. Just take it easy until you are familiar with the reactions of the bike. The biggest difference is going to be the throttle!!!

If you already know how to ride, have a license and will respect the power of the motorcycle, then you are ready.

Go for it sart out at parking lots when the cars are not there and look out for loose gravel
