Opinions? cruisers vs sport bikes? |
i currently own a 2001 harley road king. began riding cruisers about 4 years ago after years of riding sport bikes. my last rocket bike was a ninja 636. very fast bike. heres the crazy thing. everyone who has only ever rode cruisers say there is no way they would ride one of those bikes you "lay down on". but the people like myself who have riden rocket bikes agree that they are actually in there own way more comfortable than a cruiser. for me my back hurts really bad especially my upper back near my neck. in fact it actually burns. this is only after riding 60 or 70 miles. i ride each and every day of the year. i am from northwest ga. i ride everywhere i go rain or shine and no matter how cold or hot. i am truely dedicated. on average i put about 450-500 miles per week on my bike. i am not looking for a discussion on these bikes based on performance, value, harleys being over priced, ect. we all ride what we ride cause it is all we can afford or cause it is what we like.any comment on a cruiser, any cruiser i don't care what brand, you can change seats, backrests, foot controls, pegs, floorboards, bars, risers, or whatever... plus you can change your posture around through a ride to change positions and stay comfortable. personally i prefer cruisers, sports bike although fast and strangely comfortable are just not to my taste i think I'm just a sucker for chrome! Consider flatter bars. It sounds like you may be hanging on to the bars rather than resting in the seat. When I used to ride sport bikes I remember taking a lot of the jolt of bumps with my legs. I have an awful back and I'm only good for a couple hours in standard riding position, or even sitting in a chair. But I can ride a sportbike all day long. Alot of cruiser riders obviously are not very fit and I'm sure it would be too much for their arms and stomach muscles to sit on a sport bike for very long. ive been on cruisers but i still prefer the sport bikes because the speed, and for me its more comfortable. |
