Recumbent bike building leg muscle!!?

Okay, at the gym idk what method better on a recumbent bike (I'm trying to build speed and I want to jump higher). So which is the more effective workout?

Level 20 (the max resistance), legs pushing pedals slowly
OR
Level 5-10 (medium levels), legs pushing pedals fast

So which method can get me results?

You are not going to develop strength by biking. You are not getting full range of motion which is necessary to build the actions necessary to jump.

I agree with extitude here.... but if the gym recumbent bike is the only thing you have then set the thing to Level 20 and push the pedals as fast as you can (warm up first) for about one min then set it to level 5 and catch your breath for about 3 mins pedaling at a moderate speed and then repeat. Try for about 5-6 sets.

I recommend using a bike on the street and climbing hills out of the saddle. As well as simply hopping.
Jumping skills and strength are not in leg strength but in total body movement ,balance, landing and good timing.
In fact I would say that upper body and torso would be a better choise.
I do not think a stationary bike can help you.

Just one mans opinion.
I'm sorry that I didn't answer the question asked.
