How do I take out the pedal axle on my bike?

I have the pedals themselves off but the pedal cranks are still on as well as the axle. I need to remove these for the recumbent bike i am making

I am a little bemused that you have the capability to make a recumbent bike, yet you are unable to take the pedals apart?

Presumably you have the tools available, so why the difficulty?

EDIT: Pedal axel = Bottom Bracket!! ahh!

.

You will need special tools. Here you go.

If you are building a bike, get the tools or you will be way over your head.

I'm not acting snobby but the correct terminology that axle is the bottom bracket. I've practically torn my bikes apart cleaning them but I've never touched the bottom bracket. I leave that to the shop to do. . It's not uncommon for someone to start building a bike and not be able to remove the bottom bracket. It takes a special tool to remove them.

I had no idea what you were asking but a couple answers made it clear to me. The Park tools are fine. You can also find those and others from bikenashbar.com, pricepoint.com and many other on-line stores as well as your local bike shop. You will need special tools for the cranks and others for the bottom bracket. The tools will vary slightly depending on the parts you have and aren't very expensive either. An option would be to have a shop do it for you.
