Vespa Scooter for a Teen?

I am looking for a Vespa scooter that would fit me. I am 13 and 4'6''. I looked at the razor electric scooter but they seem a little too young for me. I want something I won't grow out of.

A scooter is basically a small motorcycle, with a Twist 'N go transmission, (the vespa generally has to be shifted, that is, it is not a Twist'n'Go machine). A "Razor" style electric scooter, is not the same thing legally.and they may not be available in your state, to ride on the city streets or on the highways.

If a scooter is indeed what you want, different states have different laws that govern motorized transportation. So you need to know the laws in your state, governing a motorized bicycle. and what makes a motorcycle, a motorcycle. .With some assistance you can order an electrical/battery powered front wheel to fit a bicycle and a motor of 450/500 watts or so. These are about $500 AND YOU must have your OWN WORKING bicycle. And you can do a similar thing with a small gasoline motor, but that would involve drilling holes and possibly welding mounts,to mount a very small gasoline engine. that gets around 150 miles per gallon, and carries a half gallon of gasoline, in a tank mounted on the front bar of the bicycle and uses a belt or chain to drive the wheel.

Are you getting the idea that this may require adult help? Because I tend to agree! And you would know best, who is a good candidate to ask the appropriate questions, Maybe your mother or father would be the best source of answers, and if you can't ask your mother and father these questions, Who can you ask?

Vespas are expensive, when new or even a restored classic machine can cost $6,000. A better choice may be a Honda or Yamaha. They are around $2-3000, new.. I will assume you need to get a license in your state for more than a motorized bicycle, since that is the law that seems to be most likely in force in your state. So the vespa, the honda and the yamaha are not legal to own or operate at your current age.

I think you should look into getting a vespa knockoff! They are 50 ccs and are street legal. Plus they are way more grown up than a dinky little razor. I bought one to drive around campus!

Go to http://www.xtrememinimotors.com

they have them on sale right now!!!! I just bought mine!

A 50cc vespa scooter would probably be best. Take a look at http://www.scooteronlinestore.com as they have many to choose from.

good luck,
hm2
