Running with constant quad pain?

I have been a competitive runner since i started high school, i was improving rapidly and training regularly, as i ended my sophomore year spring track my quads felt tired and heavy all the time, like how it feels to bike up a steep hill fast, when i ran, walked, drove, or watched t.v. the pain would be there. It slows me down considerably and i want to be rid of it more than anything, i have heard everything including potassium deficiency, electrolite deficiency, not enough stretching, pinched nerve in back, hydrating, weak legs, undertraining and overtraining, and nothing has helped please if anyone has any ideas or has experienced this please help me i want to end my senior year the right way and running is my life and i want to be a contributor to my team again please help

Eric, I really don;t have much to add except that you haven't said whether you saw a sports-medicine doctor or not, and yuou didn't indicate what type of exercises you have done for your quads.

I say start doing quad extensions in the gym using VERY LIGHT weights. Consider this more stretching and warmup than gym work. Use very light weights and do 1 or 2 sets of 15, slowly and carefully. Every other day or at least 2 - 3 times a week.

Give it a couple weeks and if you still get no relief, then see a doctor.

also try getting a quadamectamy, or in citizen talk. (replacement hip job) its simple, just get a really good athletes quads and have a surgeon such as myshelf replace them for ya, youll be out a season or too but once your all healed up you should be good to go. Anway good luck and happy answers.
