Please can i have some quad bike help.? |
Hi, today im going riding on my 250CC quadzilla with 5 gears. My cousin who is a 14 year old girl is coming aswell and she will probably want ago ebenm though she has vener rid a quad bike before, let alone a powerful one with 5 gears. It took me about 2 days to get total grip on how to use the gears correctly and if she does want a go what can i expect if she maybee keeps it in gear one and revs very hard and pushes the accerlerater hard down as most first riders do, will she burn out the motor if she doesn't say go up to 3 gear because that is the speed she will want to do....will it harm the quad bike at all...? should i just say it's to hard to learn and will possibly break it? I'd try and get her a few go's on an auto first, seen to many first timers end in a heap! Let her have a go & if she is not confident she can ride with you shes more likely to flip the bike than burn the motor especily in a lower gear and its an internal combustion engine hoovers have motors teach her how to ride b4 leting her loose make sure she understands the clutch and the biting point and when to change gear ADJUST THE THROTTLE STOP TO LET IT ONLY REV UP HALFWAY AND YOU WONT HAVE A PROBLEM first off a quad is bassically a very powerful 4 stroke and over reving the bike in any gear besides 1 first won't trash the transmishion... too much. basically get her in a FLAT grassy feald and fully explain how to use the clutch and gears properly that is the only way to learn how to use the gears if ur not an experet u wanna run the throttle until the quad is at the peak of it revs then Completly pull in the clutch and switch gears when the gear is changed slowly let off the clutch and open the throttel at the exact same time to answer ur question all u want to do is get the bike moving slowly in first gear at about 5-10 mph then immediatly switch to 2nd gear so that u don't have to worry about the transmission only if u rev the engine too high in first gear for too long then it will not only burn the enigine out it will blow ur pistons, trash the transmission, and if she doesn't use the clutch right ur clutch basket will get destroyed also if the enigine over heats cause the air flow isn't moving the radiator fluid right cause she is over reving in first gear then ur engine will plow the piston and if the piston shatters inside the cyclinder chamber caussing then u might damage the cylinder chamber and if its damaged then it will cost more to fix it then it cost to buy it... hopes this helps i have been riding for 4 years and never blew a motor or damaged a clutch basket cause i had the guys i bought the bike from come down to the track and show me in 6 hours how to properly use the bike so i don't completly break it |
