Is this a good way to make my pocket bike quiet?

hello i have a pocket bike and its kinda loud and i would like to make it quiet, i asked alot of people and one of them said to put a thin sock over the exaust so it blocks the sound. This sounds like a risky idea will it stuff my bike up?? thankyou

I think it all depends on whether you use an ankle sock or a knee length sock. I heard that using a woman's thigh length knitted sock is best, but make sure it's one of the multi coloured striped variety or it wont work.

Don't worry if the sock melts as soon as the exhaust gets up to temperature, you can always fit a new sock.

I donno if you'd want to ride around with a sock on your tailpipe, I would just get different exhaust

But besides that I dont know why you want to make your bike quieter. Sure you seem like a dick around local towns, but its actually safer to have a loud bike when you are on the highway, so you are more noticeable.

Im sick of people who whinge about dirt bike noise, if someone in ya street tells you 2 stop riding cos of noise ask the wanker whats the diffrence between your pocket bike and his lawnmower n whipper sniffer is. Chances r they are just as loud

If you bought it used, then the bike probably has after market mufflers. Re-install a factory muffler as they are usually VERY quiet.

My friend made his quieter by buying a scilencer for the muffler.

If you do not start it then it will not make noise
