Pocket bike wont start?

i got a brand new pocket bike. i mixed gas with car motor oil not motorcycle and i put it in the tank. i turned it on for a total of two minutes and rode it and there was a lot of smoke, then it suddenly just turned off. in the manual it says to turn some switch inside the engine but i didnt do that i couldn't find it. the bike also got really hot. did i break my pocket bike? whats wrong with it and what should i do?

btw its a 49cc 2 stroke pocket bike
the lever on the engine is supposed to turn i'm guessing thats whats wrong or the cars' motor oil damaged the engine

You used the incorrect oil in your gas. This may have damaged your engine pretty badly, as regular motor oil will not keep the engine lubricated properly.

This probably caused the heat build up, which may have warped, or damaged engine components.

Empty the gas tank and carburator. Rinse the inside of the tank and carburator with clean gas (no oil). Go to your local motorcycle dealer, or auto parts store, and ask for 2-cycle oil. If you don't know which kind, tell them that you are using it to mix with your gas for a 2-cycle motorcycle.

Mix up a new batch of gas, and make sure you use the proper ratio (should be listed in your manual).

Then cross your fingers, and try start it. If you're lucky, you didn't damage too much, and it will run. If it doesn't run, then you are in for some work.

You will need to take the engine apart, and inspect the piston for damage. If you see scratches, dings, cracks or other things in the piston, or inside wall of the engine where the piston is located, You will need to replace the piston, and repair any damage done to the area in which the piston moves.

While you have the motor apart, check out the lower part of the engine too. There should be no metal shavings at all, and the crank shaft and connecting rod should move/rotate freely. If you hear grinding, or it doesn't move smoothly, then you will also have to replace the crankshaft.

Edited to add: A choke is a feature (usually a small lever) that adjusts the fuel/air mixture that is delivered to your engine. A cold engine usually needs more fuel in order to keep running. Once it has warmed up some (around 2 minutes total time) it needs less fuel to keep running.

Turning the choke on gives the engine more fuel, making it "richer". On a 2-stroke engine, it should give some whitish blue colored smoke coming out the exhaust. As the engine warms up, and you turn off the choke, that color will turn lighter.

The carburator is the part that does the air/fuel mixing. If a little dirt or "spooge" (not a technical term...but it is described as any kind of dirt, or abnormal gunk) gets inside of it, the mixture will not be correct, and your engine will not run correctly. If it gets dirty enough, then it will not run at all.

Check out your repair manual for more information and to find out where it is located on your bike, or do a web search to find out exactly how it works.

Carb cleaner is a very strong solvent that will remove anything left by your mixing the wrong oil in your gas. I'm not exactly sure how starter fluid works, but I am pretty sure it is not the same kind as the stuff you use in your barbecue.

If you got lot of smoke the oil settle to the bottom and probably gummed up the carburetor.

Clean out the carb with carb cleaner. Then get some starter fluid (sold at HARDWARE store). It will start right up.

Next time

(1) mix the oil better
(2) use the choke
(3) warm up the bike on choke before riding it.

Good Luck...

its junk
the engine is blown
you can't get parts for it, and even if you did find parts to fix it , that would cost 4 times to fix it than what its worth

scrap metal prices are up, scrap steel is worth $14 per 100 lbs, aluminum is worth more, you might get $25 for it in scrap metal

THE ANSWER TO THIS IS UR NOT SUPPOSED TO MIX CAR OIL IN 1 CYLINDER ENGINES...u didnt mess it up as long as u flush it out with the right mix..ok go to ur loacal hardware store or motor store and buy 30 weight oil...its wat u use for small mowers and go karts mini bikes pocket bikes...etc then mix just a little of that 30 w and gasoline and pour it in their...start it up n run it as long as u can even if it gets hot it wont hurt it promise...if it turns off start it up again and just burn all that car oil u put in it...it wont process car oil to well cuz its to crude..small motors need a specific type of oil..yer welcome n good luck!!!!
