I'm thinking of geting a Hayabusa or GSX R-1000 but...?

I'm thinking of geting a hayabusa or a GSX R-1000 but the thing is, it's my first bike and i don't want to fall and mess it up. My plan whas to buy my freinds pocket bike first and practise on that until i'm comftorable. What should i do? i'm very nervous.

Then buy a bicycle (the section you posted in).

Those are very powerful bikes for a first time owner, if you don't have a lot of experience I would recommend starting with a 600.

definetly start smaller, they are very nice bikes and you will pay through the nose if you drop it. get confident on a bike before you get one and be careful on it once you do and just remember it can do 300km'/h out of the box :)). They also look very good but are very comfortable to ride

Wrong section mate.

However, the Gixer is a reasonable sports torer. Although the top end on the Hayabusa is better, just look at the shape of the front head light (think of your girl friend on this one), it tells you everything that you need to know about the rider.

Also, do you have a death wish? Get yourself a mid ranger first. If you have just done a direct access, then you are very likely to die within the first 6 months on these machines. Its why there is a 33 bhp rule for the first 2 years.

I would look at something like a Divy or Hornet for your first, post test bike.

Luck

motors suck buy a bike.

...yea those pocket bikes are REAL similar to a 'busa so there shouldnt be much difference. Isnt there anything more powerful out there like the zx14 you could buy as a first bike cause ya know first bikes need to be as powerful and dangerous as possible and extremely costly to insure. Seriously man, have you even thought about taking a MSF class or anything cause i dont want some new kid out on the streets with me who doesnt know crap but thinks they just HAD to have the most powerful bike they could find even if they know nothing about the bike or riding at all. ...Now how much sense does that make? Do i have to use more sarcasm on you?? You said your nervous and you should be if this is how your thinking. Start out small and work your way up, youll be glad.

...and by the way Alex a Gixxer is NOT a sport tourer. Its a sport bike.

You need to move up slow. Get a 600 like others have recommended. A Busa is about as far from a pocket bike as you can get. I really hope you are pulling our leg on that one.

If you aren't you might want to get lots of life insurance for a nice gift to your survivors.

get an Ironhorse....much better for the atmosphere
