Is there ANY way?? |
to attatch like a motor to a bike(bicycle) nd get it to work...i want a pocket bike but cant afford it so im lookin for a ghetto one can i make it is there any ways or site that tell you how?? I have seen some homemade ones using weedeater motors. By removing the shaft you can mount it with a wheel to run against the tire or attach a sprocket & chain for direct power. I have also seen some electric models. If you mount a small platform on back find a small electric motor & use a 12 volt battery for power. This is how motorcycles came into being. Why not check out some of those sites? do you have fabricating skills, you'll need them. I used to have a motor that attached behind the seat. It had a piece that rode against the tire to turn it. It was pretty neat. There are actually a few companies selling motors that bolt onto the bike behind the seat and either push against the tread of the rear tire to turn it and move the bike or have a chain running to a gear on the rear tire. It is also possible to attach a motor yourself if you have the fabricating skills. If you are going to make your own, You probably want to rig some kind of throttle, and you want to use a centrifugal clutch or take the pedals off. If you use the clutch, you will be able to pedal or use the motor at your choice. Also, you will need to figure out what top speed you can realistically expect from whatever motor you choose to use, and figure out what size gears to use on the motor and on the wheel to accomplish that top speed. These are only some of the basics, so if you are serious about building one of these, do a lot of research and get everything planned before you start. Good luck!
