How do you kick start a 125cc pit bike?& how do u work out the gears? |
does the bike have to be in neutral before starting?(how do u know when its in neutral?) do u have to hold the clutch in while kick starting? does the brake have to be held on while kick starting? the bike has 4 gears, how do i work them? thanks for anybodys help,i am a first time pit bike owner I'm guessing from those questions, you are fairly new to motorcycles. I would check to see if there are any local courses on motorcycle safety. Ask the person you bought it from for some instruction. If it was a dealer, they will probably be glad to help you out. You can find neutral by pressing the shifter down repeatedly. That end up in first gear, neutral is one click up. Have the bike in neutral when starting Hold the clutch in when starting Probably can't hold the brake on, because your right foot is probably holding you and the bike up, and your right hand will need to feather the gas when you start it. All the way down is 1st, then neutral, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Good luck The idea is to force the wheel to turn while it is in gear to force the motor to turn over forcing it to produce a spark starting the engine on a rolling start.... Put the bike in first gear so the bike should not be able to roll... Pulling in the clutch will allow the bike to be neutral so run beside it and try to get it as fast as you can then all in one motion swing over it and sit down popping out the clutch as your weight comes down on the bike... The bike will want to start so give it a little gas and get ready for it to start accelerating... The reason you try to pop the clutch while your weight is slamming down on the bike is because you don't want the rear tire to lock up due to compression so by dropping weight the friction is increased between the tire and the road and the wheel is forced to turn and in turn starting as a result.. Did you say kick start? hehe |
