I have a 125cc Ghost pit bike it is kick start but that is hard, what do i need to make it electric start? |
The kick start is to diffucult for me and i want to know what i need to make it electric start and some ideas where to get the things from. Also good cheap not to expensive as i am only 15 :d Many Thanks Regards Forget it and I am sorry but they guy who recommends putting an electric drill on to the clutch is just kind of out there in outer space. Even if that was viable, what happens when the engine catches and it rips the drill out of your hands? As many have said find out why you can't kick the bike easily. You are 15 so physically more than strong enough and quite honestly an engine that small you should be just about able to turn over with your hand/arm on the kick start lever. This thing is not some kind of high compression performance machine, so make that your priority. Judging by what I can see on the net of these bikes, this is definitely a low spec and low compression motor and judging by what the prices are for a new one, even if you could put an electric start on it, it would not be worth it financially. Do some simple diagnostics to find out why the kick is hard. I am assuming that there is something wrong here, or is it just that you don't have any strength in your leg? Assuming the former, keep the ignition switched off and remove the spark plug. Now try the kick start lever, with your hand should be more than enough. The engine should turn over very freely with the plug removed as there will be no compression at all in the motor. If it is still hard to operate the lever then you have some kind of mechanical tightness that will need to be investigated. It would mean splitting the engine to get to the kick start mechanism itself and starting methodically from that point. I assume the bike runs OK, so that would be the logical place to begin. lots of questions come to mind like will the engine hold a starter well if your really really cheap then all you need is a power drill which most ppl have layin around. take off the clutch cover and find some way to rig it up to somehting that goes in the drill bit and will hold onto one of the bolts that hold the clutch plate on and simply just put on and turn on drill and it will turn clutch making it start. thats basically all a electric starter is. if you dont understand, take off the cover and kick it a couple times and see which piece is moving and hook that up to a drill and spin it making it start. now you can brainstorm on ways to get something electric on there. (and i dont know if you know what its caled but i saw on some bike building show that they were trying to start a bike up with no starter and they simply put it on this roller thing and put another bike next to it and rotated the wheels making it start up while in gear, but nvm this) try what i told you. im 15 too, thats what i use, im too lazy to kick it the kick shouldnt be that difficult and getting an electiric start on a pit bike might be hard to do since there frames are usually smaller making every thing pack together. now about the kick. it shouldnt be that hard to kick over or a better question have you ever started it? becuase there could be other problems with or if they arnt problems it depends. if the bike is brand new i would work it in first. i have a gen 2 model 110cc pitbike mypurerush.com check there send them an email off the site they will help ya hope this helps cheap bike on here .they have a ghost bike also so thats ur best choice You are not going to get an electric start on that thing so you are basically just going to have to figure out how to work with what you have. Try to figure out why the kick start is hard for you, then see what you can do to make it easier. |
