Are 125cc pit bikes really fun?

i have to admit that i'm nevele years old, right now i ride a 65cc bike and i want to get rid of it for a 125cc pit bike. me and my dad think it would be pretty cool but he also thinks that once i sell that bike and get a pit bike that i'll regret it, but i don't. what do you guys think?

p.s. that word "nevele" is backwords... for a reason. so if you didn't know what it was, read it backwords.

please give me some good answers because i usually don't get very good answers from yahoo! answers users. and just when i thought we really were gonna get one, my dad thinks i'm gonna regret it, and that's the only reason i might not get one, but it all depends on what other people say, if i get enough positive reasons and stuff, i'll probably get one. keep in mind that if you guys think i shouldn't get one because they're not good racing and desert riding bikes, keep in mind that i don't ride much, the most i ever ride is probably like 3 times a month, ok?

u wiil regret it if it is a kx65 or somthing similar,u should get a yz85 or somthing similar, maybe ktm 100. the pit are air cooled, it would be like a ttr125 in a smaller frame, go with a motocross bike
If you get a good one and don't plan to race I think it would be a fun ride. The problem is that many of the pit bikes out there are junk. If you get one make sure it's a good one and they aren't cheap. I have done a bit of research since I'm planning to buy one myself. This is the cheapest "good" pitbike I could find. It is $2799.

As Cody mentioned they are air cooled compared to water cooled race bikes. If you just plan to play around and want a trick looking bike it will be a good choice, just don't sell a good bike and buy a piece of crap. Also try going to this forum and read some posts.
