When i am servicing my 125cc Four stroke Pit bike what bits should i LUBE? |
Also what should i do to make it a professional service PLEASE PLEASE i need all the details as this is my first time servicing (Beats disshing out 拢50 when could get it done at home for around 拢15-拢20). Many Thanks it looks like you could do with a HAYNES MANUAL for your bike. But the first thing to do is replace oil filter and engine oil, the rest can wait. Find the tight spot then tighten your chain and lube it. Lube the gear linkage and kickstart. Put 10/40 oil down all cables via a tight self made funnel. Adjust all cables and rear brake linkage. Clean/replace plugs and perhaps air filter. Check head bearings for play, fork seals for leakage, check tyre pressures and look for cuts and slashes. every time you ride check the bike for proper oil level gas clean and spare plug tool kit air pressure go over all the bolts and make sure they are tight. As far as what to lube: chain swing arm steering stem Make sure you change the air filter regularly. Have the carburetor rebuilt by a pro at least 1 time per year - at the beginning is best. That way your ready to roll out. Keep it clean - keep it upright - and wear riding gear. 25+ year 2 stroke rider self maintained I lubed my brakes to stop them squeeking but now I can't slow down quickly, should I up the tire pressures? I have a buddy who races and is sponsored my yamaha and they use ATF fluid instead of oil in the case on their pit bikes. Sounds crazy, but it works, and its supposed to be better on your engine. Always make sure that your chain is well lubed |
