My pit nike won't start, I think it's more than one problem.? |
My pit bike won't turn over, it will kick and make a noise but won't quite start and it make a very loud pop noise after about 10 kicks. The carb is making a funny noise, every time the engine make a bum bum bum sound (when i kick it up but won't turn over) the carb makes a wierd sort of pssshhh pssshhh pssshhh noise like there's a hole in it, i think that''s the air intake but it never used to make this sound. When I bought it I could kick start it first time but now after i've been off road a lot it has never been the same. The only things I have bought for it is a new throttle and cable but it didn't fit up perfect so my uncle snipped bits off the cable to make it fit as it should. It is a Honda CRF50 / CRF70 style bike. It isn't the HT lead or the spark plug as the mechanic looked at it and said it was at full spark and he cleaned the end. I could bump start and could keep it going but it was at rock bottom revs and I had the throttle on full but as soon as I let go it would stall. Your piston rings have gone and I'm afraid all your efforts to start the bike means you have probably wrecked the barrel as well . Changing piston rings is standard maintenance on 2 stroke bikes ! have you checked the exhaust is not blocked over pressurising the engine if it pops sounds like a valve problem...sticking open or closed ect..if blowing back and popping more a valve prob.... |
