What's the best stuff that I can use to protect my new bike engine? |
I've just ordered a new bike. Trouble is, I like to ride all year and no matter how hard you try to keep them clean, the front and bottom of the engines always suffer with pitting and rusting. I would like to coat these vulnerable areas with something and leave it for the winter, then clean it all off in the spring. Any suggestions on the best stuff to use? do pushbikes have pedals? You could use scott oiler 365 spray, Its made especially for bikes. The other option would be to use car wax oil. Which ever you choose its no substitute for regulafr cleaning and re application. Too stupid to put my guzzi away for the winters. Gunk it is like grease but it washers off easy ,you will be able to get it from motorist shop Keep spraying the whole lot with WD 40....looks a mess but it will be like new next year !! that`s too nice a bike to use in winter!buy yourself an old shed. 3 in 1 have a good range, they do a water resistant lithium spray grease i`m not sure how heat resistant it is for the engine everywhere else is o.k wd/40 is always good.you need to hose your bike with cold water aswell. Waxoyl is what you need, hands down the best. For this application I'd use the "clear" aerosol. Link: http://www.hammerite-automotive.com/waxo... |
