I'm 25, and my ankles and chest hurt BAD when I run. Why? I'm not so much worried about your chest as your ankles. I run a 5:30 mile now, but when I use to run a 8:30 mile I felt brutal pain on my chest. It was normal; however, as time passed by my body got use to it. However, I am very worried about your ankles. Most likely your ankles are too weak to support your body. Try turning your ankles each for five minutes a day. Also, you might want to consider swimming because it is not so hard on your joints and it's good for your cardio. Good luck to you! Most important piece of advice I could give you is to take it easy. Just keep your heartrate at a 160/mintue then increase your speed gradually as your body adapts to this wonderful pain. |
