I need help with the renovation of a cycle?

I have been given a Raleigh Persuit 16 speed cycle although the frame is in good condition the chrome is pitted with rust spots has any body got any ideas on how to clan the wheels seat stem and pedels i have been told by some in the cycling world this bike is a classic the other potion is to find somewhere in West Yorkshire that could strip and rechrome the parts as the cycle is all original I realy dont want to put a new set of wheels on (for this bike they are 拢134 each) Please only sensible sugesstions

You could try some "solvol autosol" its a chrome cleaner paste, it used to come in a gold coloured tube, should be available at most car accessorie type places.
You are in the right location to find somewhere to have the frame re-chromed, if you buy a copy of "cycling weekly" it has a list of places at the back where you can get all sorts of finishes done.
