Which one would you recommend an electric scooter or a petrol driven scooter?

It depends on the reason for having a scooter.
Each has its own advantages.
Petrol is good if you want to be able to use it frequently for transportation. The reason is that it's easy to refill and continue going, whereas electric takes time to recharge.
Electric is good for other reasons. It runs more quietly, so if you are using it in a close area it will be less offensive. Also it doens't put off fumes or exhaust.

Petrol scooter is better at this moment because still electric scooter is not fully developed in terms of technology, comfortability and not commercially viable for long distance travelers.

With ur name, i could assume that ure from india.... so according to ur situation, i would say go with PETROL SCOOTER... coz india has money to buy petrol, but not the sources to generate much power... if all buy electric scooters, then even delhi and bombay will not get power supply for 24 hours... already there are about 300k houses in india who dont get electricity... so electric scooter will affect the economy..

But in case of america or australia or uk or germany, or other countries, electric scooter will be a better option, but no body prefers scooter, as they see thier safety and cars are affordable there... scooter would cost around two third of a CAR... so y to go for scooter.. whereas in india u get scooters for one tenth the amount of a car... so india and china and japan etc go for scooters.. coz they are used to it.. and there the cars are costly...

the electic scooter may be suitable for girls but the boys should use petrol. because the petrol scooter has a pickup in varying load condition but the electric scooter not like that...

Gas powered scooters are the way to go. 200 mile range with a gas powered scooter as opposed to 75 miles on an electric.

But as technology advances this hopefully will change in the near future. I know Honda is currently working on hybrid scooters and fuel cell scooters.
