50cc Scooter problem Help !? |
i need some help because i'm getting really annoyed my throttle on my 50cc scooter keeps seising up. i thought it was because i had no petrol but its done it again and has plenty of petrol ?????? Try checking the fuel filter. If the throttle grip is not turning properly or feels loose, you may have a seized or broken cable. If it is kept outside and very cold, I have know water to enter and freeze causing similar faults. Do you mean the engine is seizing up or does it still keep ruuning on tickover? Dirt or other contamination can cause carburretors to "play up or seize." If the throttle is siezing I would suggest you may have frozen water inside the handgrip, try a squirt of de-icer to break the ice up. I would replace the throttle cable first to freeze or sieze is your throttle cable,,,,,,,,,try to open throttle as much as possible then twist back while holding cable down away from twistgrip then spray easing fluid ( wd40 or same) into inner cable, release and work in/ out..........repeat if necessary. id change the throttle cable and have a quick look at the carb, mine recently jammed and i took the carb apart, put it back together and it worked fine. |
