I need help about mountain bike. please help!? |
i just got a new mountain bike. the pedals always seens to be loose. if i pedal uphill, i put more stength on the pedal and the pedals will slide off i'm sure that the pedal slide off and not my leg. and, when i shift gear, the chain often come out. please tell me what i should do! hi maybe the parts are not put together properly or did not srew the pedals tight enough go to the bike shop and get the pedals screw tightly since its a new bike, the pedals should not be spoiled, that person might probably did not put it tight enough as for the chain, maybe get a new gear shifter. go back to the bike shop for better answer. gd luck! If you bought it from a bike shop, I would take it back and tell them about it. If you got it from a place like walmart I would take it back and exchange it for another one. What happens in some places when they are putting them together you get some teenage kid putting them together making minimum wage who could care less how well they put them together. The pedal sounds like there is too much play (either from not properly tightened or just a faulty product). On the derailleur, it would probably just need some adjustment. I don't know who is going to end up being responsible for this, depending on where you bought it and who assembled it, but it sounds like the place you bought it from assembled it. You can adjust it yourself, but if they will then you should have the sellers take care of it and set it up properly (if they were supposed to in the first place). 1) Your bike sounds messed up. Take it back! Where did you buy it? Wal-Mart or something? You should always buy a bike from an actual bike shop. Wal-Mart bikes are no good. 2) After you have a decent bike.... When you shift gears going up a hill, try to not put a lot of weight on your pedal when you shift--that'll make it easier to shift. Ideally, you want to shift out of difficult, "high" gears before you start going uphill. |
