Need some help to get a good mountain bike? |
does anyone know where to get a good mountain bike cheap Operative word? Cheap! You have to shop the pawnshops like I did. I got a Trek hardtail for $85 bucks, they definitely did not know what they had :-) It had a flat, Ha! Like that's a consideration for a cyclist. I shopped at a downtown pawn shop once and found a Gary Fisher for peanuts, then later I found a full suspension Trek at a pawn shop close to my school! If you do craigslist or ebay make sure you test ride before you slap your hard earned cash down. I have a buddy that's still suffering with a rear rim on his Schwinn MTB because he didn't test ride it. When your money is spent it's gone. Whats the latin for buyer beware?! Source(s): Experience Have you tried your local craigslist or ebay? Make sure you see it in person, no pay now with paypal, then come pick it up after. Also, sounds crazy, but if you ask some of the salesmen at a bike shop they may have their old one for sale. You may get a dumb face or comment but it worked pretty good for a buddy of mine. I have an even better place to go to. Go to: http://www.fezzari.com/ I personally own a Abajo Peak Pro and I love it! (I would have gotten the Alta Peak, but at the time they only had three bikes (the lowest end and the highest end are new ones). The components on the bike are top of the line, but at cheaper prices. I have had it for a year and am satisfied. I bought mine from Costco online (so that I could return it if I didn't like it, plus I got some cash back on my AMEX). Anyway, check it out, they may not be well known, but they are on their way. Good Luck and happy riding. |
