What is the best way to sell a mountain bike (ebay, etc.)? Should I part out or sell whole?

I have a hardtail mountain bike with lots of cool parts. Would it be most economical to sell it whole or in parts?

Hmmm!! ebay is a good way to sell your bike but to be honest if it is a high end machine and you want to get a good price for it then it might be a lost cause.Ebayer's really don't like to spend money and sometimes can be quite offensive with the offer side of things.What i would do is advertise in bike mags if it is a desired machine that you know people would want.But never try to sound like you do not know much about bikes or never let a potential buyer know you are not knowledgeable as they will make you sell it to them for a fraction of what it is worth.Also if you do need to get some info on what you are selling just pop into a local bike dealer and ask them to write you up a bit of info on your bike they will only be glad to help.How do i know this i used to work in a bike store and God how i miss it good luck.

I find forums are a bit easier to sell bikes and parts..ebay will charge you fees

and it is hard to say what would be better for you to sell your bike whole or parted out..we would need a spec. list
