Im a bit to small to bunny hop my mountain bike? |
hi i have a raliegh chill mountain bike and i cant bunnyhop it very high and can some one help m eout? Hey Yhami, -You mentioned you can Bunny Hop, but not very high. If your frame is too big, try lowering your seat so you can have more room to lower your butt and spring up using your legs. Also, when you spring up twist / rotate both your grips on your handlebars forward. The twisting of the grips will help bring the rear of the bike up, when you pull up. It takes some practice and timing, but that is what makes riding fun. -You can also go with clipless pedals? Those are the kinds of pedals that clip onto special bike shoes. With these type of pedals you can really bunny hop, because you can transfer a lot of the upward momentum through the center of the bike. When you jump up the bike goes up with you really easy. Anyway, good luck and hope this helps a little. = ) Get a lighter bike or hit the weight room. And practice. Your Raliegh may be too large for you. If it is not too late, your bike shop may allow you to exchange it. If getting another bike is not an option, practice as much as possible. Practice on grass at slower speeds. The grass with help you keep your balance. And if you fall, it won't hurt as much. Practice lifting the front tire and rear tire separately. Once you are lifting each tire pretty well then you can try both. Make sure your weight isn't too far back or forward. You want to be balanced, keep your weight evenly centered. You want to lift the front and rear without shifting your weight too far forward or back. Balance is the trick. Practice as much as possible and if you see someone taking a break, feel free to ask them. Hope this helps. |
