Any body know any thing about Schwinn ditch 1.0 mountain bike they have at costco for $250? |
i wanna get a mountain bike but i really know nothing about brands or from where my budget is $250 Yes, I know about them. First, it LOOKS like a mountain bike but it is NOT a mountain bike. If you look closely at the bike you'll notice a little sticker that tells you it is for on road and smooth trails only. If it isn't on the bike it is in the owners manual. Costco, Walmart, Target, Sams, BJs, etc do not sell mountain bikes. One cannot buy a true mountain bike for less than, say, $600.00 because of their requirement for weight and excellent construction. If you're looking for something in the $250- $300 range I would consider an ATB, or all terrain bike. These are good for riding on road and off road up to rain rutted trails, but are not for slamming down a mountain or jumping boulders. You can buy a Diamondback Sorrento or Diamondback Response for this kind of money and they'll do great as long as you keep them maintained. Source(s): 26 years in the industry. |
