Marin mountain bike problem? |
Bought a used Marin Larkspur Hybrid mens. There is an annoying problem that the handlebar creaks when bodyweight is applied. Seems to be coming from the stem joint as if insufficent tension appled to bolt. The bike shop had it and greased the thread to tighten it more but it still creaks. Would have thought maybe a jointing substance/gasket or washers. Any ideas please. alright... 1st off - do this, it is often the source of mystery creaking. Put a little drop of lube where the cable housing sits in the frame brackets. You'd be surprised how often this comes up if that isn't it - I'd overhaul the headset. If thats not it, it could just be the aluminum... I think it's because of the weight on the fork. try to not apply so much force on it. |
