Which is the better mountain bike? |
Which bike is the better bike of the two? A Gary Fisher Wahoo Disk or a Giant Yukon? What are the pros and cons of each bike? Both bikes have practically the same features. I'm not a fan of Giant bikes and tried to find a compelling reason to go with Gary Fisher but I couldn't find one. Based on the price & features, I'd go with the Giant. The final test would be to feel how heavy each bike is, but even that might not be enough to justify an $80 price difference. It really comes down to fit. See if you can take both bikes out for a test ride. If 1 feels better than the other then that's your best bet. Remember that you are going to be the one spending hours riding it. You might as well be comfortable. What you're getting is a solid entry-level mountain bike that will work on almost any trail. Don't forget the accessories, such as Helmet, patch kit, and water storage. You could use your $80 savings there. Both bikes have different geometry, which might affect which one is better. Gary Fisher has what they call the Genesys geometry, which makes the top tube larger than a 'standard' geometry. Of course, GF says this makes it the best geometry around, but it just depend on your body type. If you have a longer torso or long arms, this might be a good thing, but if you have your legs larger than the norm, maybe that would not be very good. You have to ride them both. How a bike fits you is the most important thing in a bike. Both Giant and GF are good companies, and have good backup. Giant by itself makes a lot of bikes and has lot of experience building bike, and GF is a subsidiary of Trek, also another strong player. they are both cheap *** god damn chinese ******* bikes made by slaves |
