Pricing a used mountain bike? |
I want to sell two Giant Boulder SE - 19" frame and 17" frame. Original purchase price was $300/bike. However, forks were upgraded to Manitou Black and Rock Shox SID respectively. New Panaracer tires and new hubs on both. I was thinking of selling for $300/bike or $500 for the pair. Does this sound fair or is this too high? It is a little high I think... unfortunately, most people don't really care about the upgrades when buying a used bike. Ultimately, when you tell them about the great upgrades they still point to the remaining parts of a $300 bike. I would probably start at $200 and take $175 each. Source(s): 27 years in the industry Can't say because you didn't provide the model year, condition and estimated miles on each. All these things have a significant impact on value. With the new info, yes it sounds very fair. The forks are worth more than the bikes. You would get more $$$ if you installed the original forks again and sold the new forks separately. Heck how much you want for the SID (Is it dual air, team, sl, world cup???) ;) I might would buy one for $300. It depends on the condition. I would be interested in the 19 inch. Any pics of it? |
