When I ride my mountain bike for over 45 minutes?

my forearms start to itch like mad. Could it be an airborne allergy or is is increased oxygen flow to my forearms from handling the bike?

Or neither?

sounds like a lot of vibrations
change your grips to thicker or spongier ones
wear better MTB cycling gloves
try to shift your weight to the rear, especially when climbing hills
My guess would be allergies because lactic acid in your fore arms usually burns, it doesn't itch. It's probably high possibility if you ride in prairies and areas with lots of smoke.

It could also be a decreased blood, oxygen, and water flow to your forearms after riding for an increased period of time, as in your fore arms are falling asleep. Try to stay hydrated when you ride. Make sure about 70 percent of your weight is on your butt, not your forearms.
I get that once in awhile. For me, I notice I start to itch on my neck and forearms when I start to sweat. I itch when I have a high sodium intake. That's just me.
