What is the best mens mountain bike saddle for long single track rides? |
I have tried about 3 saddles and they all hurt after a couple of hours...... maybe it is just me but on my previous bike I never had this problem!! You have the answer. Get one like the one you had in your previous bike! For sure you remember the name and make of that bike, so that way a good bike shop will know or investigate easily the type of saddle it was sold with. You can do your own research in Internet knowing the brand and model of your bike, the manufacturer will have posted all the info about that particular model, including the saddle. Not much of a problem is there? Bean Bag! i used to go biking back in my prime & always got sore from the saddle. I think the best was one with gel inside that moulds to your, err, shape......but it still hurt after a while. I'm surprised you have an issue on single track.... When I'm doing it, I'm shifting around so much, the saddle isn't all that important. Maybe that's a function of the circuits I go on. Yeah like silverbullet I find I'm hardly even IN the saddle let alone in one position on it for long. Have a look at the Specialized Body Glove range, they have always been good. If you go to a Specialized dealer you can get fitted for the correct saddle - they measure your "sit bones" to get you a saddle that fits just right, which will make it infinitely more comfortable! Get the San Marco Aspide Triathlon Gel, the San Marco Arami Gelaround, or the WTB Laser V----all have great designs and suited for long trips. I agree with Ashy and Budd and also I recommend looking at Fizik seats particularly the Gobi but also the Arione. |
