Why isn't there a kickstand on my mountain bike? |
I just got a bike today and i really like it, but i noticed that there's no kickstand for it, and I'm just curious as to why there's not one, its just one of those things that I assumed was there, and it wasn't. I race mountain bikes, because of this I have seen many different mountain bikes and none of them have kickstands on them. Mountain bikes do not need kickstands because it is dangerous and less efficient to have it on there. I do know where you are coming from, I was recently at a bike race and it was muddy and I would have liked to have had a kickstand to use but I found it just as easy to lean it against a tree, table, car, etc.. If you do not ride trails you can always buy a kickstand and install it. However it you do trail ride then do not install a kickstand. Having the kickstand will make your bike heavier and things (sticks, mud, dirt, etc) can get caught in it and can cause you to crash. idk i guess it got stolen before anyone bought it..dont no why someone would steal it but theres some wierd ppl, ive never seen ANY bike without a kickstand lol Maybe they forgot to put it on. I'd call the store Few adult bikes have kickstands. If you look at road bikes, they rarely have kickstands either. If you want a kickstand, it is possible to add one later. Why? It is another piece that a bike company would have to add to the bike. But, I am guessing that few people care if there is a kickstand. Mountain bikes don't have a kickstand. It's not safe for the type of riding the bike is supposed to ride. For one, it will probably rattle a lot, and it might drop while you're riding the bike. Don't worry about it. hi sean t |
