Can anyone recommend me a bright HID headlight for my mountain bike?

not one of those dinky three small led light...i like Night Rider HID but they are expensive....any other good headlight for my bike?

Any HID lights will be expensive. In addition to Nite Rider, there's Princeton Tec, Cygo-Lite, Light & Motion and many others. Check out www.universalcycles.com. They have a good selection and good prices on lots of different light systems.

If you do a lot of riding after dark, don't go cheap. You can't put a price on your safety.
If you want a good HID it is going to cost. You can not get high quality for a cheap price.

HID Technologies in Australia are making some pretty awesome units (see link below) with Lithium Polymer batteries that are extremely light in weight.

But to be completely honest, a real High Intensity LED (not the dinky small ones you mention) will be just as good, probably cheaper, and most definitely less likely to blow a bulb - which is extremely expensive to replace on HID units.

I have a Cygolite DualCross 300 LED unit which is more than adequate and puts out an equivalent of 20W of Halogen power. It cost AU$300, whereas the HID light I mention above which has a similar runtime is AU$440.
