I found a 26" mens mountain bike Schwinn bike at Costco, is it a pretty good bike for everyday riding?

It depends what you mean by everyday riding. If you actually are going to ride a lot, or for longer distances, you're going to hate this bike. Schwinn is part of the Pacific Cycles group, which own Mongoose, GT, and several other labels. They make good bikes, but the ones you see in the department stores and warehouse clubs are the junky ones (all things considered).

They weigh a TON and have some really cheap parts on them. It's a long list of reasons and disadvantages to go through, but trust me the parts aren't good and bike shops hate working on these bikes! They're ok to ride, sure......but for not a lot more money you can get a much better bike from a bike store. I'd recommend you look at an entry level hardtail from Trek or Giant. They start out around $225 and this is a great time of year to get some '06 or '07 closeouts. If you can move up to the $300 to $400 range you'll get more bike.

Instead of buying the cheapie full suspension, I'd invest in a hardtail (even the cheapie one) and put some slightly larger tires on it.....they'll give some decent cushioning.
Probably not. $280 retail for full suspension just screams cheap bike. Try looking for last year's hardtail in the same price range.
Have never seen this bike before. I doubt that you'd be happy with this bike in the long run. The parts listed are of dubious quality. I have to wonder if your legs would rub on that strange frame support system. I'd never buy a bike with a frame like that without riding it first. My last point is you didn't tell us how big of a person you are. Some of those entry level bikes have shocks that when people around my size (190lbs) or bigger try to ride them bottom out and aren't good for much.
Sorry, but Schwinn sold out their name long ago. In the 1960's they were high quality bikes. But now most of them are junk as far as quailty goes. They're made in Taiwan of bottom end parts. For serious riding, no, this is not a good bike to buy. Anything from a big box store isn't going to be worth bringing home. Not only are the bikes poor quality to begin with, they're put together by kids who don't have a clue what they're doing. Want a nice bike ? Go to a bike shop ! You'll pay more, but it will be worth the cost.
Schwinn makes a great bike but do not buy it from cosco the employes put them together and they dont know what there doing when they put them together. veryone one likes a warrinty besides evwww.performancebikes.com
just went through what your talking about
