Mountain Bike Tire Size? |
I Have A 26脳1.95 Tire and I'm Going To Buy A 26脳2.5 Is It Gonna Fit ? Thanks. lokk at the clearance between the tires that are on the bike and that will tell you how much room you need for the bigger tires the space between the tire and the frame and forks. yes,the second measurement is not the bead,it's the tire heighth Kiri. It depends on the tire and the frame. Some frames have narrow seatstays or chainstays, which might limit the width of the tire you can put (1.95 or 2.3 is the theoretical width of the tire). Not all tire manufacturers tires come the size they put, some might be wider, and some narrower. Also, some tires are taller than others. Go to the bike shop and ask them if it will fit, probably you would need to take the bike. no it is to wide and will make a lot of problems go for 2.1 tops Check the space on your frame. You want some clearance between the tire and the frame. When you corner, the wheel will flex some, so you want to be able to have space for that. I have a similar problem my 97 Stumpjumper came with 1.95 and I went to 2.1. It is very close to rubbing the frame. The rear wheel shifted a little during one ride and it rubbed some pait off the frame. I am thinking of finding some smaller tires. Like Roberto said earlier not all manufacturers measure the same, so your best bet is if the bike shop will let you mount the tire to see if it will fit. I don't think you can get a 2.5 on your bike without it rubbing Good luck. |
