Which mountain bike should i get? |
Should I get a Gary Fisher Wahoo Disk for $550 or should I get a Giant Yukon for $470? Ride both. Buy the one you like best. If money is an issue, don't forget to budget money for a helmet, shorts, gloves, etc. instead of spending everything on the nicer bike. To get the best bike in you price range, do some research, then check out the bikes in person. The bike reviews section at http://mtbr.com is an excellent place to start. Do a search for XC Hardtail and sort the reviews by price. I assume you want a hardtail since both of the models you mention are hardtail. After picking out a few models, visit a few local bike shops to take a test ride. Make sure you go to the shop well informed so the sales people don't try to smooth talk you into buying what they stock. Also, make sure the bike fits you.
